  • JLL Capital Markets appointed senior director Erik Hanson to lead the Northern California Industrial Capital Markets team. Hanson, with 15 years of experience and more than $10 billion in career transaction volume across multiple product types, will spearhead the region’s industrial investment sales efforts. He is based in the San Francisco office. 
  • Also in the Bay Area, JLL announced that veteran Silicon Valley broker Shawn Kellenberger is joining the company as executive managing director, working out of both its Menlo Park office and the firm’s new San Jose location at Santana Row. Kellenberger’s role will expand on his long-held expertise across tenant representation and landlord/agency brokerage in the Valley’s key sectors including office, flex, R&D and more, for existing and new clients.  
  • Tony Morales has joined CBRE’s Advisory & Transaction team in Los Angeles as a vice chair, the highest title for producers within the company. Morales specializes in office tenant representation across Southern California, as well as nationally and internationally. 
  • First Washington Realty, a fully integrated, national real estate investment and management firm that specializes in the ownership of convenience, necessity, and experience-oriented retail real estate, has hired Lemuel Kong as Senior Director, Asset Management in Newport Beach, Calif. First Washington Realty currently owns an interest in 142 shopping centers with a value of over $8.8 billion located in 22 states and the District of Columbia. He will lead and oversee the financial performance and business planning of their west coast shopping center portfolio and reports to the COO. Lemuel was previously a Senior Director for KBC Advisors.  Executive search firm RETS Associates handled the search.  
  • Western and Central U.S. industrial real estate investor, developer and asset manager CapRock Partners has been honored with the “Largest Sponsor Transaction” award by the Inland Empire and Orange County Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). The recognition highlighted CapRock’s lease transaction with a Fortune 5 e-commerce company at CapRock I-15 Logistics, a 1.17 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art industrial facility in Fontana. 
  • Yardi, in collaboration with the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Real Estate Technology and Transformation Center, has introduced Rent Estimator, a tool that gives housing providers a simpler way to provide fee transparency for renters. Rent Estimator helps housing providers give future residents the ability to calculate their total estimated cost to rent and live at a property before deciding whether to apply, according to Yardi. 
  • Westlake Village-based Occuspace, an occupancy intelligence platform for the built environment, has secured a $6-million Series A investment led by Lewis & Clark Ventures with continued support from Shadow Ventures, Okapi Ventures, Cove Fund, and Hamilton Ventures. The investment accelerates Occuspace’s growing service to higher education, corporate and government facilities, and brings the total investment in Occuspace to $14 million.
