- FirstService Residential hired Michael Underwood as EVP of the Northern California region. Underwood’s extensive career spans three decades of leadership including a background in landscape maintenance and construction, where he primarily served the HOA industry.
- Real estate law firm Allen Matkins announced Jennifer R. Jeffers has joined as senior counsel in its Land Use, Environmental and Natural Resources Group. Jeffers is based in the firm’s San Francisco office and brings more than 13 years of experience in counseling public, private and non-profit clients on all phases of project development, financing, acquisition, due diligence, design, environmental review, entitlement approvals and project construction. She joins from Stice & Block LLP, an environmental and real estate firm in Oakland.
- Shopoff Realty Investments, a national manager of opportunistic and value-add real estate investments, promoted Jo Merriman to EVP, operations and investment services. Merriman joined Shopoff in 2021 and previously held the role of SVP, operations and investment services.
- Suffolk, one of the largest real estate and construction enterprises in the country, has added industry veteran Abel Gonzalez to its Los Angeles leadership team as EVP of operations. Gonzalez joins Suffolk from CRB Group, where he served as the Senior Director of Construction Operations of the Western Region. In his 28 years of industry experience,
- Reliance Real Estate Advisors, a boutique real estate firm located in San Francisco, announced that Max Rattner and Blake Miller have joined as partners. Miller specializes in industrial leasing and sales in San Francisco and San Mateo County, while Rattner specializes in leasing and sales of commercial properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an emphasis on industrial, land, fleet management, public parking and EV infrastructure.
- Highpointe Communities, a community-focused real estate development company based in Irvine, added Patrick Sinderhoff as senior land acquisition manager. Sinderhoff will focus on sourcing land opportunities, financial modeling and contract negotiations for new residential investments throughout Southern California and Central Texas.
- Community Corporation of Santa Monica and West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (WHCHC) have been selected by the United States Department of the Treasury to receive $4 million to create a revolving loan fund to support affordable housing predevelopment expenses. Community Corp. and WHCHC applied as a consortium to maximize the opportunity and leverage resources to create quality affordable housing, specifically in high resource neighborhoods.
- Latitude 33 Planning & Engineering said that Phase 1 for the $60-million Bonsall development, The Havens, is under construction. Phase 1, which includes the first 59 homes, is anticipated to be complete in the Spring of 2025. The 16-acre winery with vineyards which will overlook Gopher Canyon Creek, a pond, and avocado orchards are anticipated to be complete in the Summer of 2024.
