California MBA Sets Agenda for 2020 Western States CREF Conference
California MBA’s 2020 Western States CREF Conference will showcase a completely virtual experience when it arrives Sept. 9 through 10. Conference Chairman Andrew Mekjavich, Principal at Gantry, will kick off the event that includes nine planned presentations and nearly 30 speakers across the two days.
A real estate market update will be delivered by Heitman’s Mary Ludgin, PhD, and Marcus & Millichap’s John Chang will provide an economic update. The conference will include a special keynote by television and radio personality Adam Carolla.
Highlights of the sessions include:
– a discussion on the Future of Office Space with JLL’s Jordan Angel, Gemini Rosemont’s Jon Dishell, and CBRE’s Brad Zampa;
– a conversation on how COVID-19 is impacting the market from a borrower and lender perspective with Gantry’s Michael Heagerty, Slatt Capital’s Jason Berry and Pacific Southwest Realty Services’ Daniel J. Phelan; and
– an overview of bridge lending in the COVID-19 era with Thorofare Capital, Inc.’s Kevin Miller, Prime Finance’s Shawn Cully, Partner Engineering and Science, Inc.’s Joe Derhake and Money 360’s John Calder.
An important session this year will be an update on the California November Ballot Initiatives for CRE from California Apartment Association’s Tom Bannon and California Business Roundtable’s Rob Lapsley.
