California Economic Summit Serious About Jobs

The California Economic Summit, which recently had its fourth annual meeting this year in Ontario, pulled no punches when examining the state’s job potential.

The organization’s goal? To increase the state’s skilled workforce by one million jobs annually in the next decade. In addition to the jobs challenge, speakers also discussed how to provide one million more homes, as well as one million more acre-feet of water every year.

The California Economic Summit was created by California Forward and the California Stewardship Network. Among the 400 attendees at this year’s event were Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, and Controller Betty Yee.
