California Cities Claim Top Spots on Cushman & Wakefield’s Tech Cities Top 25

Six California cities captured spots on Cushman & Wakefield’s inaugural Top 25 list of tech cities, including San Jose/Silicon Valley claiming the top slot, and San Francisco following closely behind at No. 2. Other Golden State cities on the national Tech Cities 1.0. report included San Diego (9), Oakland/East Bay (13) Los Angeles (18) and Orange County (20).

Cushman & Wakefield economist Ken McCarthy says, “tech is in everything” and that people would be left behind if they did not adopt technology and change with that technology. “Basically every company today is a tech company in one way or another,” he said

Cushman & Wakefield determined the top tech cities by analyzing the concentration of factors such as talent, capital, and growth opportunity – key ingredients that comprise a tech stew. The report provides greater insight into existing and emerging tech centers that are driving much of today’s U.S. economy.
