California Begins to Step Up Re-Masking Edicts

In California, everyone 2 years of age and older must wear a mask in all indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status. They must also continue to wear a mask on all public transit and transit hubs, in all healthcare settings, correctional facilities, shelters and cooling centers, and schools and daycare facilities.

In response to increased COVID-19 cases, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has expanded its existing mask mandate to include events in large outdoor venues such as SoFi Stadium and the Hollywood Bowl. The order, which will go into effect just before midnight tomorrow night, will require operators of concerts, sporting events and other high-attendance events to post signs notifying attendees that they must wear a mask at all times except when eating and drinking, and for employees to enforce the mandate verbally.

The Bay Area reissued indoor masks mandates at the beginning of August.

Moreover, an indoor vaccine mandate may be ahead for Sacramento. Mayor Darrell Steinberg is considering a mandate requiring people to show proof of a COVID vaccine in order to enter Sacramento bars, restaurants, concert venues and gyms.
