CalAtlantic Moves Forward on Vila Borba Development
Construction is underway on Vila Borba, a 224-acre planned community in Chino Hills, CA. The 500-home project is being developed by Irvine, CA-based CalAtlantic Homes, which was formed in 2015 when Ryland and Standard Pacific joined together under one roof.
Vila Borba encompasses four planning areas. The initial phase includes 183 single-family homes in two communities, Montarra and Serena. Two subsequent phases are slated to include 168 single-family residences. The developer is proposing to change a fourth planning area from 280 high-density homes and five acres of commercial development into medium-density homes.
The new master-planned project is set in a “scenic rolling countryside” that’s in proximity to a host of amenities. City officials welcome new residential development because it will help counter rising housing shortages.
