Cal State Debuting in Downtown L.A.

The migration to Downtown Los Angeles doesn’t just include retail, restaurants, creative office space and multifamily lofts. Now the area is getting education space as well.

Cal State Los Angeles signed a lease for 21,000 square feet downtown in the Financial District. It is moving into 801 S. Grand Ave., which is a 207,000-square-foot building owned by the CIM Group.

The university’s facility is set to open next year, and offer under graduate, graduate and other programs for students. The lease is expected to be valued at $6.7 million annually.

Other tenants include the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and the headquarters of Finance One.
