Alessio Tropeano has been hired to run the new life science real estate division at CA Ventures

CA Ventures Launches Life Science Division

Chicago-based real estate investment management company CA Ventures has launched a life science platform with the appointment of Alessio Tropeano as SVP. Formerly with CBRE, Tropeano will spearhead the execution of the division’s investment strategy and the further expansion of its portfolio. 

“CA is in a distinct position to capitalize on the unparalleled momentum the life science industry has experienced over the last decade through our expansive student housing presence next to leading universities and prominent research institutions,” said CA Ventures CEO Tom Scott.  

The new division’s initial investment includes a mixed-use transit-oriented development in Emeryville, CA, with 350,000 square feet of Class A laboratory space, 30 homes for low-income renters and community-serving amenity space.  

“CA is well positioned to take advantage of this geographic expansion to budding markets that demonstrate compelling underlying market fundamentals to support a growing life science ecosystem through its trusted national network, reputation and reach,” said Tropeano.
