Burns & McDonnell Expanding Office to 218K SF

Engineering, architectural and construction firm Burns & McDonnell will widen its footprint at 1700 West Loop South in Houston. The tenant will increase its square footage from 158,000 to 218,000, meaning it will occupy 11 floors in the 272,941-square-foot office building located in the Galleria submarket.

JLL’s Scott Fikes and Jenny Mueller represented the building owner, Lingerfelt CommonWealth Partners LLC, in negotiations. Cushman & Wakefield’s Joe Peddie represented the tenant.

Burns & McDonnell plans to increase its footprint over the next two years, occupying approximately 85% of the building upon buildout in late 2011. The tenant will also hire 300 new employees. As part of the transaction, Lingerfelt Commonwealth will relocate and upgrade the building’s fitness center.
