Bunkhouse’s Houston Hotel to be Its Tenth
Bunkhouse has started work on a Houston hotel, adjacent to the Menil Collection, a Downtown Houston art museum. Called Hotel Saint Augustine, the hotel will include 71 rooms and offer guests an event space, a restaurant and a bar. It’s scheduled to be completed Q4 2024.
The Marchbanks Co., based in Austin, is developing the hotel for Bunkhouse. The company has worked on other Bunkhouse projects, such as Hotel Saint Cecilia and Hotel Magdalena in Austin as well as Hotel Havana in San Antonio.
Bunkhouse brought in San Antonio-based Lake Flato Architects to design the hotel. The firm also has worked on other Bunkhouse hotels, such as Hotel San José and Hotel Magdalena in Austin and Hotel San Cristóbal in Todos Santos, Mexico. Post Co., a Brooklyn, New York-based design studio, is working on the interior.
It will be the company’s 10th hotel.
