Carlos Aguilar named CEO of Texas Bullet Train Co.
Central Texas Partners, which is attempting to build a bullet train between Dallas and Houston, has named infrastructure development expert Carlos Aguilar as Chief Executive Officer, effective Dec. 12. Current CEO Tim Keith will become president, and take responsibility for external affairs and capital raising.
Aguilar comes to his position from global engineering firm CH2M Hill, where he was senior vice president. “Carlos brings a significant mix of construction management and engineering experience, making him an ideal fit for our team as we move forward on this transformational project,” said Richard Lawless, chairman of the Texas Central board.
Dallas-based Texas Central is a private company developing the nation’s first high-speed passenger train connecting North Texas and Houston. The train, which travels up to speeds of 205 m.p.h., will make the Dallas-Houston trip in 90 minutes.
