BuildSoccer Planning Six-Field Complex in South Austin

Nonprofit organization BuildSoccer signed a long-term lease for 20 acres at Marbridge, a 200-acre residential community for adults who have cognitive disabilities. BuildSoccer is planning to develop a six-field soccer park complex at the site, which is at Brodie Lane and FM 1626 in South Austin.

The organization is seeking funding to help with the $5 million project. BuildSoccer President Christie Ciccarello also said a large donor interested in acquiring naming rights for the complex is being sought. Work on the park will take approximately two years to complete, once the initial round of fundraising is done.

The partnership is part of a “grand strategic plan” to foster more connections with the community, Marbridge Foundation’s Becca McPherson told Community Impact.
