Building Supply Company Scores Incentives for $170M Bexar County Factory

Ecor Global plans to build a $170 million factory in Elmendorf, near San Antonio. The building materials company plans to break ground on a site at Mission Rail Park in southeast Bexar County. The San Antonio Business Journal reports the facility will initially be 300,000 square feet, with a 240,000-square-foot expansion option. It’s expected to facilitate 150 workers at buildout.

The company takes agricultural waste and transforms it into recyclable panels that are akin to plywood. This would be the firm’s first U.S. facility, with two others in operation in Serbia.

The project received approval for more than $2.2 million in incentives from Bexar County in early 2025.

The company waiting for financing to begin work on the plant. With $100 million secured from the Texas State Bond Board, the company is on an equity raise for the rest.
