Buda Retail Center Sees Steady Lease-Up in Pandemic
Shops on Main, a neighborhood retail center in the Austin-area community of Buda, was completed in early 2020 and shortly afterward encountered the pandemic. Despite the issues facing retail due to the pandemic, the Weitzman team of Cameron Longmire and Gabe Sanchez has leased all of the approximately 20,000-square-foot center with the exception of one small-shop space.
Longmire noted that one of the advantages of the center can be seen in its multiple-building configuration. “For example, Marble Slab’s franchisee wanted an endcap, and that has been the case of the other food concepts in the project,” he said. Additionally, Sanchez noted that the center also offers two drive-thru lanes.
Leasing has proceeded at a strong pace despite the pandemic, because the tenants saw the value of the location, said Longmire. “Some deals took a bit longer, but the leasing continued to move forward,” he said.
