Buda Mulling Hotel & Conference Center
In April 2017, the city of Buda, TX commissioned CBRE Inc. to create an economic impact analysis study for a potential hotel and conference center. The results of that study, recently presented to the city council, determined that a feasible hotel for Buda would have 120 guest rooms, and approximately 22,000 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel would cost an estimated $18 million to build, would create nearly 200 jobs during construction and ultimately would bring in $3.4 million in occupancy tax revenue, $2.5 million in potential sales tax revenue and $2.3 million in property tax revenue over a 10-year period.
“This study was conducted to determine whether or not a convention center project would be feasible and ultimately it is up to city leadership and the potential interest from developers to determine what if anything is done with this information,” Buda Economic Development Committee Director Ann Miller told Community Impact.
