Buckingham Lands $330M Loan for Apartments in Midwest, Southeast

CBRE Capital Markets’ Debt & Structured Finance team secured a $330-million financing for a seven-property, 2,381-unit multifamily portfolio in five states on behalf of a multifamily fund sponsored by Indianapolis-based Buckingham Companies. The portfolio includes assets in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.

The CBRE Debt & Structured Finance team of Shawn Rosenthal, Jason Gaccione, Tom Traynor, Tom Rugg, Jake Salkovitz, Henry Fenmore Lauren Weinstein and Justin Helbling facilitated the floating rate SASB loan from Goldman Sachs/Atlas SP Partners on behalf of the borrower.

“The single-borrower securitized loan allowed the fund to realize some of the value created in the portfolio through accretive renovations since acquisition,” said Rosenthal. “We were gratified to be able to assist Buckingham Cos. as they continue to invest in these valuable assets.”

The portfolio includes Whetstone Flats I & II in Nashville; Champion Farms Apartments and Woodbridge Apartments in Louisville; Fieldstone at Glenwood Crossing in Cincinnati; Rosemont Vinings Ridge in Atlanta; and The Village on Spring Mill in Carmel, IN.
