Buckeye Partners Planning South Texas Gateway Terminal
Buckeye Partners LP is joining forces with Phillips 66 Partners LP and Andeavor to develop the South Texas Gateway Terminal, a 212-acre waterfront project at the mouth of Corpus Christi Bay. The deep-water, open-access marine terminal in Ingleside, TX, will offer
- 3.4 million barrels of crude oil storage capacity
- Connectivity to the Gray Oak pipeline
- Two deep-water docks that can berth Very Large Crude Carrier petroleum tankers
The terminal is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2019, with Buckeye owning a 50% interest in the project. Phillips 66 Partners and Andeavor will each own 25%. Buckeye will construct and build the facility.
“This project expands our presence in the important Corpus Christi market, which we believe offers strong competitive advantages for waterborne shipments of crude oil and other petroleum products from the fast-growing Permian and Eagle Ford shale plays,” said Khalid Muslih with Buckeye.
