Buc-ee’s to Open First Louisiana Store

Buc-ee’s, the well-known Texas-based rest stop and convenience store company, is making its first move out of state with plans to open a store at the Greens at Millerville, a 56-acre development at Millerville Road and Interstate 12 in Baton Rouge, LA.

Buc-ee’s, headquartered in Lake Jackson, signed a purchase agreement with developer Windy Gladney to acquire 15 acres where the company will build a 60,000-square-foot store. The company plans to launch construction on the facility during the second quarter of this year, with opening scheduled for early 2017.

Greens at Millerville was selected because of its convenient location. “About 95% of our sales receipts are from outside the store ZIP code, so visibility and easy on-off traffic patterns go into analysis of the site,” said Buc-ee’s project engineer Scott Ratcliff.
