BRP and Project Partners Cut the Ribbon on Downtown Jamaica Mixed-Use

BRP Companies, public officials and project partners recently celebrated the grand opening of The Monarch, a 605-unit, 25-story, 542,000-square-foot mixed-use development located at 92-29 Guy R Brewer Blvd. in Downtown Jamaica, Queens. Construction on the project began in 2021.

“As we unveil our third major development in Jamaica, we are proud to continue to contribute to the neighborhood’s vibrant culture and growth trajectory,” said Meredith Marshall, co-founder and managing partner of BRP Companies. “Through the creation of a much-needed workforce housing offering to the heart of Jamaica’s downtown, The Monarch will have an overwhelmingly positive impact on the community and we’re excited to be celebrating its opening.”

The Monarch features 605 mixed-income residences. The Urban Investment Group within Goldman Sachs Alternatives helped provide financing for the construction. In addition, Goldman Sachs helped raise the Opportunity Zone equity for the project. This investment is also part of Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women initiative, a $10-billion investment commitment to help drive economic opportunity for at least one million Black women by 2030.
