Brookline Redesigns Its Own Digs in Downtown S.D.
Looking inward, literally, Brookfield Properties is investing $2 million to “reimagine” its own company’s regional headquarters in downtown San Diego (East Village neighborhood), according to a news release.
Their 18,000-square-foot presence, known as Eagles Hall, was built in 1917, featuring Greek neoclassical revival exteriors. The updated interior is open-space, following the demolition of sectioned-off office spaces and has been further modernized as workers continue to resume in-person office duties, as well as its expanding team and corporate footprint.
From the release:
“Brookfield Properties is committed to building on its local legacy and preparing for a promising future ahead in San Diego,” said Ted Lohman, Vice President at Brookfield Properties. “As we continue to build our pipeline of projects and expand our local team, our reimagined workplace will help position us for long-term success and an even deeper connection to our community.”
Starting in 1968, Brookfield’s presence and impact on San Diego is well documented. At present, the company is working with the Discover Midway team towards a major, new sport-related experience that intends to include 3,277 all-income housing units, 11 acres of green space and a local “mercado” presence, among other features.
