Brookfield Will Pilot Zero-Waste Platform at Brookfield Place

Brookfield Properties has agreed to serve as the real estate partner of Loop, a zero-waste packaging platform from TerraCycle. The partnership marks Loop’s launch in the U.S.

First up will be tests at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan, starting with Brookfield’s employees, and at the newly-developed One Blue Slip residential tower at Greenpoint Landing in Brooklyn. The tests will provide access to Loop’s reusable containers in partnership with major consumer brands.

“We are excited to pilot the environmentally-friendly initiative at two locations in New York, with an eye to expanding it to our tenants over time if successful,” said Brookfield VP Sara Fay.

Added TerraCycle and Loop CEO Tom Szaky, “Loop’s partnership with Brookfield will help us innovate future expansion of the Loop platform, including B2B deliveries and drop-off points while offering residents the exclusive opportunity to access a limited number of spaces in the pilot program.”
