Brookfield Teams with Imperfect Foods on South Bronx Drive

Brookfield Properties, which is developing the Bankside mixed-use project in the South Bronx, is partnering with Imperfect Foods to provide fresh produce and create healthy meals to food-insecure families in the area. It follows a Brookfield partnership with Union Square Hospitality Group and Rethink to provide meals to South Bronx families while reactivating New York City restaurants and accelerating re-employment of restaurant team members.

“The Bronx was already the borough facing the highest rate of food insecurity, with more than a quarter of Bronx residents affected before the onslaught of COVID-19 exacerbated the problem for many New Yorkers,” said Brookfield’s Ben Brown.

“Brookfield is committed to the Bronx and improving the lives of those who call it home,” he continued. “Through this partnership with Imperfect Foods and our work with Union Square Hospitality Group and Rethink, we hope to provide relief to those who are struggling during the pandemic.”
