Bronx PACT Modernization Project Secures $275M in Financing
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has secured $275 million in financing for Sack Wern Houses, a PACT project in the Bronx. This funding will facilitate comprehensive renovations for 800 residents across seven buildings, converting them to Project-Based Section 8.
The PACT partners, Douglaston Development, Asland Capital Partners, and Breaking Ground, will rehabilitate over 400 apartments and communal spaces, preserving affordable rents and resident rights. Clinton Management will manage the property, with BronxWorks providing social services. Renovations include new fixtures, sustainable heating, façade repairs, and upgraded common areas, with construction expected to take three years.
“Closing financing at Sack Wern Houses is a key milestone in improving the lives of hundreds of NYCHA residents in the Bronx. I appreciate the residents that have participated in shaping the future of their community and look forward to seeing the positive impact this investment will bring to fruition for over 400 households,” said Deputy Mayor for Housing, Economic Development, and Workforce Maria Torres-Springer.
