Top Broker Honorees: Will Strong, Andy Markham, Mike Haenel and Phil Haenel, Cushman & Wakefield

This industrial team blew past its initial pricing guidance, hitting a new record for cap rates, with sub-5/low-5 cap rates as the new standard. The team’s deal amount of $441.8 million focused on sales, as well as both sides of leasing table; tenant and landlord representation.

On the leasing side, the team was able to complete a complicated, rare assembly and infill redevelopment of a marquee Sky Harbor International Airport site. This was accomplished by cold-calling a Fortune 500 company with an airport land-constrained auto salvage lot, and securing the anchor site. This, in turn, helped launch construction of two rear-load industrial buildings, totaling 329,700 square feet.

Another lease transaction by this team saw Amazon and Sonny’s Car Wash Equipment taking down approximately 200,000 square feet, also in the Sky Harbor Airport market, in a building that had been vacant for 18 months. This transaction required the use of creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
