Top Broker Honoree: CBRE’s John Shlesinger, Sam Holmes and Ellen Stern

In 2019, John Shlesinger, Sam Holmes and Ellen Stern of CBRE represented railroad giant Norfolk Southern in a deal that relocated their headquarters from Virginia to Atlanta, on route to a year that included $1.4 billion in transactions for the team.

The Norfolk Southern deal was one of the most complex in Atlanta history, involving multiple property owners, various development agreements and complicated tax incentives.

The office leasing team of Shlesinger, Holmes and Stern also represented Invesco in its hunt for a new corporate headquarters. Invesco ultimately landed at the forthcoming Midtown Union mixed-use project in Midtown Atlanta, anchoring a 26-story tower where the company will add 500 jobs.
