Top Broker Honorees: CBRE’s Eli Hanacek, Jon Hallgrimson

CBRE’s Eli Hanacek and Jon Hallgrimson dominated the multifamily investment sales market in 2019 with 36% market share, plus 17 residential land sales for a total consideration of over $2.9 billion in multifamily sales activity. The team ranked No. 1 in the Seattle MSA.

One of their most notable transactions was the $210M sale of the Danforth, a 16-floor luxury residential tower on First Hill, with a Whole Foods as the anchor retail tenant. The record-setting price was negotiated while the property was completing its lease-up with a tight due diligence schedule and quick all-cash close in December.

Other transaction highlights included: Lane Apartments, a challenging deal because the property was in lease-up during the sale and was sold pre-stabilized; and North Gate Plaza, which required a significant level of structure and brokerage acumen to navigate an affordable housing component within the overall redevelopment.
