Bridge Industrial Achieves Net-Zero for Primary Operations
Bridge Industrial said it had achieved net-zero emissions for primary operations, effectively encompassing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2021 — a first step in the firm’s strategic sustainable effort to support greener operations and to reduce emissions throughout its supply chain. Chicago-based Bridge will also continue to push for comprehensive portfolio-wide decarbonization by committing to ULI Greenprint’s goal of net-zero operations by 2050.
To reach this 2021 net-zero target, Bridge identified relevant emissions across eight corporate offices and 19 industrial warehouse facilities, securing Renewable Energy Credits and carbon offsets to achieve net-zero carbon status. This milestone puts the firm well ahead of the ULI Greenprint commitment – to which it became an official signatory earlier this year.
“We wanted to make sure we covered our own primary operations before looking at strategies to help tenants reduce their own emissions,” said Francesca De Amicis, VP, operations and sustainability at Bridge.
