Brickell Hotel Changes Hands
The W Hotel Miami on Brickell Avenue has a new owner. The S. Florida Business News reports the BH Group and Suzer Group have the property under contract. No price has been disclosed. It last traded for $64.5 million in 2016.
The 148-room hotel is currently owned by the Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC), the international hotel investment and hospitality subsidiary of Qatar-based Al Faisal Holding Company. The hotel is located within the Icon Brickell mixed-use tower at 485 Brickell Ave.
The sale of the W Hotel Miami was brokered by Stefano Santoro of Disruptive Real Estate for the buyers and Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp LLC for the seller.
The hotel was originally called the Viceroy Miami when it opened in 2009. ARTIC rebranded it as the W Hotel Miami and brought in W Hotels Worldwide to manage it. It also renovated the hotel, adding a W Living Room on the 15th floor.
