Brent Barnes to Lead Transwestern’s Florida Healthcare Team

April 5, 2017

Houston-based Transwestern expanded its footprint in Florida with the addition of Brent Barnes, who joins from Flagler Investment. Barnes is charged with building a new Healthcare Advisory Services practice in the state.

“Florida has an 18.5% projected growth of healthcare jobs by 2024, making it the next natural market to implement our healthcare practice,” said Transwestern’s Eric Johnson.

Transwestern’s Healthcare Advisory team, one the country’s largest practices, operates from 19 cities and includes 120 members. The group provides a full range of services, including investment, leasing, tenant advisory and property management for hospitals, healthcare networks, physicians and investors.

Barnes brings more than two decades of healthcare CRE experience to the role. He’s executed more than $875 million in healthcare transactions, developed and leased in excess of 1.2 million square feet of healthcare projects, and orchestrated a 28-building, $241-million medical office portfolio sale.
