Breakwater Town Center Breaks Ground
San Diego-based Sudberry Properties is breaking ground this week on Breakwater Town Center, a 45,000-square-foot retail center that serves as a gateway to Coronado and Imperial Beach, CA. The shopping center is a public/private partnership with the city, and is planned as a community hub.
Emeryville-based Grocery Outlet, which has 11 stores in San Diego County, is an anchor tenant. The developer is negotiating to bring an assortment of specialty food restaurants, as well as new goods and services to the center.
The initial phase of 33,000 square feet of space is slated to be completed next year at the 4.75-acre redevelopment site. San Diego-based Andrew Hull Stevenson Architects designed Breakwater Town Center.
