BREAKING NEWS: Google Plans 1.7M-SF Hudson Square Campus
Google said Monday it would create a new campus in Hudson Square, with signed lease agreements at 315 and 345 Hudson St. and a letter of intent to lease 550 Washington St. Between the three properties, Google’s new campus will total 1.7 million square feet.
The 550 Washington occupancy covers 1.3 million square feet at the property, a former warehouse known as St. John’s Terminal set for redevelopment into modern office space. Google plans to invest more than $1 billion into capital improvements at the three-building campus.
“We hope to start moving into the two Hudson Street buildings by 2020, followed by 550 Washington Street in 2022 once the building is complete,” Google CFO Ruth Porat wrote in a blog posting. “Google Hudson Square will be the primary location for our New York-based Global Business Organization.”
The Wall Street Journal previously reported on advanced discussions to create the campus.
