Braum’s to Longview Locale: Never Mind

Over the summer, Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Stores exhibited interest on just under 0.2 acres at Marshall Avenue and Seventh Street in Longview, TX. However, the Oklahoma-headquartered retailer indicated that it was no longer interested in planting a stake at that location. The company, however, still plans to open in Longview, at 1500 W. Loop 281, the site of a former church.

Despite Braum’s pullback, Gary Andrews Insurance, which has been at the Marshall Avenue site for more than a decade, will relocate to Alpine Road. Andrews told the Longview News-Journal the owners of the building at 1001 E. Marshall Ave. told him recently that he didn’t have to move, after all. “I said it’s too late,” he said. “You told me months ago that I would have to be out by the end of the year.” Records show that the landlord of the Marshall Avenue space is Bowles Real Estate LP, of Longview.

There is no immediate explanation available as to why Braum’s pulled back on the project.
