Boyce Thompson Back to Life in Yonkers

The historic Boyce Thompson building stood empty and crumbling for nearly four decades, covered in graffiti in Northwest Yonkers, NY. On May 23, the renovated 1920s complex reopened as The Boyce Thompson Center, with 85,000 square feet of medical office space, retail stores and restaurants.

“What was once an eyesore will now be generating tax revenue for the City, creating jobs and bringing new retail and healthcare services to the residents of Yonkers and nearby Rivertown communities,” said Joseph Simone, president of Simone Development Companies, the developer of the $35 million project.

About 85% of the Boyce Thompson Center is already leased to tenants including St. John’s Riverside Hospital and WESTMED Medical Group, which each took a wing of the refurbished historic building, in addition to a long list of other medical, retail and restaurant tenants.
