Boxcar Betty’s Eatery Unpacks at KBS’ 500 W. Madison

Southern gourmet chicken purveyor Boxcar Betty’s has chosen KBS Realty Advisors’ 500 West Madison St. for its first Chicago location. The 1,725-square-foot lease at a property that’s home to one of the nation’s busiest commuter stations is also the first Boxcar Betty’s outside its native South Carolina.

“This is a highly visible, mindful way to introduce a powerful brand to the greater Chicago retail market,” said CBRE’s Phil Golding, who represented Boxcar Betty’s. “The foot traffic, confluence of other great dining options and the population density will secure a healthy, immediate customer base.”

Golding’s CBRE colleagues Todd Siegel and Kim Wiskup represented KBS Realty Advisors. The 1.46-million-square-foot office property is continuing to up its retail game. Southern Living magazine rated the new tenant’s offerings as “the best fried chicken in South Carolina.”
