Boston’s $1.35-Billion Winthrop Center MXU Launched
MP Boston commenced construction on Winthrop Center, a $1.35-billion mixed-use development in Downtown Boston. Set to be completed in spring 2022, the project will feature 750,000 square feet of office, 420 residential units, as well as a mix of retail, dining, and commercial space, along with a curated public gathering space.
The endeavor is the largest private investment for a single project in Boston, and will create a compelling presence on both the skyline and at the pedestrian level. Built on a rare and prized acre of formerly city-owned land, the development provides immediate economic impacts to the city through funds earmarked for much-needed improvements and public-facing projects.
MP Boston’s Christopher M. Jeffries says, “Winthrop Center represents the next-generation of development offering a seamless integration between the built environment and the urban human experience.”
Standing roughly 691 feet tall, the project will be Boston’s fourth tallest building.
