Boston Redevelopment Authority Approves $500M in Projects

The Boston Redevelopment Authority board has approved close to $500 million worth of real estate projects in seven neighborhoods. Among those projects are three mixed-use developments in Dorchester and Brighton, MA, that will offer close to 1,000 units of housing.

The projects include:

  • The $200-million expansion of South Bay Shopping Center in Dorchester, spearheaded by retail developer Edens. The expansion will offer 475 units, as well as a 130-key hotel, and 113,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
  • The $150-million Dot Black. This 475,000-square-foot, mixed-use project will be developed for vacant parcels at the 1200 block of Dorchester Avenue. Dot Black will have 362 units, with 47 deed-restricted as affordable, and 37,000 square feet of retail.
