Boston Historic Building Transforms to Affordable Housing

Our Lady’s Guild House, a historic building located at 20 Charlesgate West in Boston, was sold to the Planning Office for Urban Affairs and Fenway Community Development Corporation for $14 million.

The 58,320-square-foot building in Kenmore Square, Boston, is being transferred to new ownership and will undergo a substantial renovation to provide permanent affordable housing. Our Lady’s Guild House has served as a residence for women since 1947, and the sale looks to ensure that its legacy of offering affordable housing is preserved while also maintaining the property’s historical significance.

Jeanne Pinado of Colliers organized the deal. “We are honored to be part of a project that provides much-needed affordable homes to our Boston community,” said Pinado. “We support the mission of the Planning Office for Urban Affairs to serve as a catalyst for social justice through housing development and neighborhood revitalization.”
