Boston Dynamics to Expand Operations, Signs 320K-SF Lease with BXP

In connection with a planned expansion of its Massachusetts operations, robotics company Boston Dynamics has signed a long-term lease of 320,000 square feet at BXP’s Reservoir Place, a 530,000-square-foot building located at 1601 Trapelo Rd. in Waltham. The company intends to invest approximately $100 million to develop a state-of-the-art robotics and AI center at Reservoir Place and create up to 1,250 new jobs by 2033.

“Boston Dynamics is one of the world’s most innovative robotics companies and a cornerstone of Massachusetts’ leadership in advanced technology,” said Bryan Koop, EVP, Boston Region, BXP. “Their decision to establish a long-term home at Reservoir Place underscores the appeal of BXP’s Urban Edge campus and our ability to provide workplace environments that support innovation, talent attraction, and growth.”

The new facility will consolidate and expand manufacturing, research and development, training, and artificial intelligence functions that are currently distributed across multiple locations. Boston Dynamics expects to relocate to Reservoir Place in phases beginning in mid-2027.
