Boston Commons Coming to San Antonio

San Antonio’s Historic and Design Review Commission (HDRC) gave a conceptual thumbs-up to Boston Commons, a six-building, nine-unit rental housing development. Developers Ben Bowman of Assets & Architects, and partner Cotton Estes with HighCotton Architects, named the project after the road on which it sits, Boston Road.

Complex plans are for three, two-unit homes, ranging from 1,070-1,200 square feet, and three single-unit homes from 630-1,100 square feet. Planned amenities include a covered bike and mail area, a garden and courtyard, and a small pavilion. HDRC will need to give final approval to the plan before construction can be launched.

“We always wanted this to be a shared common-ground development, something that really focused on more interaction than what you’d normally get in a rental community. We think about that a lot,” Bowman told the San Antonio Business Journal.
