2nd Frisco Baylor Scott Young Hospital to cost $265M

Booming Frisco Site for New $265M Hospital

Baylor Scott & White plans to begin construction of a new hospital in Frisco in March, just minutes from the Omni PGA Frisco Resort and the future site of a new Universal Parks and Resorts theme park.

The 339,988-square-foot facility at the northeast corner of the PGA Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway is scheduled for completion by May 2025. Frisco is home to two other BS&W hospitals, one 8 miles south of the proposed new project (see photo).

The structure’s initial estimated cost is $265 million, with Dallas-based HKS Inc. listed as the design firm. Baylor Scott & White purchased the property in June 2021 from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land. Texas healthcare construction tends to follow the residential growth pattern, making Frisco and other high-income communities in Collin County desirable. Collin County’s population is expected to double to 2.4 million by 2050.

In addition, Frisco offers healthcare service providers the potential to tap into a large base of insured customers. The uninsured rate in its zip codes is just 6.8%, compared to 18.4% nationally.
