BofA Takes 386K-SF HBO Building Across from Bryant Park HQ
Brookfield Property Partners signed a lease with Bank of America at 1100 Sixth Ave. in New York. The giant bank is taking the entire 386,000 square feet at the HBO building on Sixth and 42nd Street.
The move to 1100 Sixth Ave. allows for staff consolidation while creating a “campus” with BofA’s Manhattan HQ, which will remain across the street at the Durst Organization’s nearly 2.4-million-square-foot One Bryant Park.
Brookfield and San Francisco-based The Swig Co. acquired the leasehold interest in the 1980’s era asset last year from Eugene A. Hoffman Management. Brookfield is expected to redesign the 15-story tower once HBO moves to 30 Hudson Yards in 2019, along with parent Time Warner.
Brookfield’s Duncan McCuaig and David McBride handle leasing for the office building.
