BofA Expands Commitment at Cousins’ Charlotte Asset to 318K-SF

Bank of America signed a 294,000-square-foot lease renewal and a 24,000-square-foot expansion at Cousins’ Fifth Third Center, a 698,000-square-foot office tower located in the Uptown submarket of Charlotte, NC. The deal expands the Charlotte-headquartered bank’s lease to 318,000 square feet, and extends its maturity from 2022 to 2025.

Cousins’ Larry Gellerstedt says, “We are honored to announce that Bank of America has chosen to expand at Fifth Third Center and further its relationship with Cousins, one which spans over 30 years.”

Cousins Properties purchased the 30-story building at 201 N. Tryon St., Fifth Third Center in 2014 for $215 million. Other major tenants at the nearly fully -leased building include Fifth Third Bank, Dimensional Fund Advisors, McGuireWoods and Winstead.

JLL represented the tenant, while Foundry Commercial represented the landlord.
