BofA Boosts Footprint at Brookfield’s LA Tower to 218K-SF
Brookfield Properties inked a 218,000-square-foot renewal and expansion lease with Bank of America Corp. at DTLA’s Bank of America Plaza. The bank is boosting its anchor presence at the 55-story tower from 163,000 square feet, in a consolidation of two other downtown offices.
The company is relocating its regional Merrill Lynch and U.S. Trust offices to 333 S. Hope St. in Downtown, extending its total footprint within the 1.4-million-square-foot commercial real estate property. The expansion brings Bank of America Plaza to 93% leased, though The Capital Group Cos. Inc.’s 306,000-square-foot commitment still ranks as the largest. Other tenants include law firms Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, Kirkland & Ellis and Alston & Bird.
Brookfield’s Bert Dezzutti told the Wall Street Journal, “To renew and expand their location is a significant milestone for Downtown L.A. as a location of choice.”
