BofA Awards Grant for New Music Hall in Downtown Columbus

CAPA has received a $500,000 grant from Bank of America in support of its Music Hall project at the former Central Presbyterian Church building at Third and Chapel streets in Downtown Columbus.

“This generous investment from Bank of America is a powerful catalyst in bringing this historic space back to life,” said Chad Whittington, President and CEO of CAPA. “As we work to create a welcoming, flexible venue for artists and audiences alike, this support helps CAPA bring a new energy to Downtown.”

This grant represents the largest strategic philanthropic investment Bank of America has made in the Central Ohio region, underscoring the project’s significance and the growing demand for accessible, community-centered arts spaces.

Located at 132 South Third Street, the landmark building—constructed in 1859 and one of the oldest in downtown Columbus—will be reimagined as a state-of-the-art community arts space. The project is scheduled to commence in May 2026, with an anticipated opening in the fall of 2027.
