Bob’s Stores to Close All 21 Retail Locations

Bob’s Stores, a New England retailer established in Connecticut in 1954, is closing all 12 of its New England locations: 

  • 1400 Oaklawn Ave, Cranston, RI
  • 92 Cluff Crossing Rd, Salem, NH
  • 409 Main St, Ansonia, CT
  • 2300 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT
  • 179 Pavilions Dr, Manchester, CT
  • 416 East Main St, Middletown, CT
  • 195 Cherry St, Milford, CT
  • 172 Kitts Lane, Newington, CT
  • 504 Bushy Hill Rd, Simsbury, CT
  • 835 Queen St, Southington, CT
  • 910 Wolcott, Waterbury, CT
  • 167 Parkway N, Waterford, CT

The closure is part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by its parent company, GoDigital Media Group, which plans to liquidate all merchandise. Bob’s Stores, once a competitor to retailers like Bradlees and Ames, will shut down all 21 of its locations across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. The company had been owned by TJX Cos. from 2003 to 2008 and joined GoDigital Media Group in 2022.
