BNY Renews 205K-SF Offices at One Boston Place

Financial services firm BNY has renewed its 205,000-square-foot office lease at One Boston Place, 201 Washington St. in Downtown Boston. The renewal was first reported in a third-quarter market report from CBRE.

A longtime tenant at the 800,000-square-foot office property co-owned by Nuveen and La Caisse, BNY was one of a handful of occupiers signing large leasing deals in the CBD. Its renewal was the second-biggest Boston office lease in Q3, surpassed only by Hasbro’s sublease of 264,395 square feet at 400 Summer St. for its new headquarters.

The BNY and Hasbro deals helped bring downtown’s Q3 leasing tally to 1.91 million square feet, the highest quarterly leasing total since pre-pandemic levels in 2019, CBRE reported. Even without the large deals, though, Q3 would still have represented an increase of more than 33% over Q2.

Newmark’s Jason Cameron, Gil Dailey and Dave Martel handle leasing at One Boston Place.
