BMW Renews 227K-SF Berth on Far West Side

BMW of Manhattan signed an approximately 227,000-square-foot, 10-year office and retail lease renewal at SL Green Realty Corporation’s 555 W. 57th St. The German auto maker occupies the entire second, third, and fourth floors together with portions of the ground and concourse levels.

“We’re delighted to extend our longstanding relationship with BMW,” said Steven Durels, EVP and director of leasing for SL Green. “The building proudly displays the BMW logo atop its roof, indicating the importance of their brand to the Manhattan market and to SL Green.”

JLL’s Scott Panzer and Matt Rosen represented BMW of Manhattan in this transaction. SL Green was represented in-house.

Built in 1973 and originally known as the Ford Motors Building, the 20-story Far West Side property has been fully modernized. Other notable tenants include CBS Broadcasting, Inc., City University of New York, Greater New York Hospital Association, and Mt. Sinai/Beth Israel.
