BMO has named Darrel Hackett as U.S. CEO of BMO Financial Group, succeeding Dave Casper, who is retiring

BMO Names New U.S. CEO to Succeed Retiring Dave Casper

BMO has appointed Darrel Hackett as U.S. CEO of BMO Financial Group, president & CEO of BMO Harris Bank N.A., and CEO of BMO’s U.S. holding company, BMO Financial Corp., based in Chicago. Hackett’s appointment is effective June 1. 

Hackettt, who joined BMO in 2004, has served BMO’s clients as the leader of the bank’s U.S. Business Banking group, as head of the bank’s North American Integrated Channels team, and most recently as President of BMO Wealth Management – U.S. 

Hackett’s appointment follows the retirement announcement of Dave Casper, U.S. CEO, BMO Financial Group. Joining BMO with the bank’s acquisition of Harris Bank in 1984, Casper led BMO’s U.S. commercial banking business since 2010, BMO’s North American commercial banking business since 2015, and has served as U.S. CEO since 2018. He will become board chairman upon his retirement.
