Bluemercury Expands to Tucker Development’s West Loop MXU

Luxury beauty retailer Bluemercury has signed on for two storefronts totaling 1,800 square feet at 900 West, Tucker Development Corp.’s multi-building mixed-use complex in the Fulton Market District. Tucker Development CEO Richard Tucker said the retailer “will fill a retail void for residents in this burgeoning enclave of the West Loop” when it opens this summer.

In renovating the 10 low-rises comprising 900 West, Tucker Development “sought to preserve and restore these late-1800s buildings, keeping with the character of the historic Fulton Market District while adapting them for modern use.” The district has attracted high-profile occupiers including Google and McDonald’s, whose new global headquarters will be three blocks away.

“Chicago has been a royal flush for Bluemercury,” said Barry Beck, Bluemercury’s co-founder. “Although today we have more than 170 stores nationwide, Chicago will forever be part of our foundation since we opened two of the company’s first 10 stores here.”
